| Paddy Sims quickly laid out the central
design elements known as kuruwarri. Then Paddy Japaljarri
Sims and Paddy Japaljarri Stewart ("Cookie") set to work
dotting the rows of pulsating dots, evoking the shimmer and depth
of the stars in the night sky. With the clear, unsullied desert
air the Milky Way can be seen most nights as a cloud of stars stretching
across the heavens. Paddy Sims granddaughter looks on as the ubiquitous
camp dogs fight in the background (notice the dogs dusty paw prints
on the surface of the canvas). |
