painting. This object represents Munga or the night sky and the
stars in the heavens. At the end of the ceremony they raise the
object skywards as if to put the stars back in the night sky. This
is meant to bring on the change of seasons, making the nights shorter
and the days longer, renewing the world after the winter months. |
