Welcome to the Director's Tour of the film, Singing the Milky Way, similar to a the directors commentary on a DVD but at a more leisurely pace, using film stills to tell a more in depth story.

This is the first shot in the film: a crescent moon appears to be hanging from this tree like a Christmas ornament. This along with the other images shot at magic hour, twilight, sunset, dawn, and in the night captures something of the magic of the bush, the deeper connection you feel to the cosmos and the natural cycles. The moon, stars, and nearby planets and the Milky Way are often extremely present in the night sky out bush. It's no wonder that Paddy's Dreamings connect him to the stars in the night, they would have been part of the texture of his everyday life in the bush.
